A new 2025 design.

By changing the side where the light hits the moon, this stylish tenugui pattern depicts the waxing and waning of the moon as seen in the night sky.
Gazing at the moon in the autumn season is an age-old custom in Japan. Otsukimi, the moon viewing tradition, is said to have begun around 1,200 to 800 years ago. It is an event celebrating the autumn harvest while gazing at the round moon in the clear autumn sky. We designed the process of the moon waxing and waning on a single tenugui cloth. Incorporate this moon motif into your daily life and enjoy the beauty of the seasons and outer space. This unique and eye-catching tenugui will delight anyone who loves outer space.

Tradition Meets Craftsmanship

Each tenugui is hand-dyed by craftsmen using the traditional CHUSEN technique, which creates beautiful gradations of color unique to this process.

Each piece carries the warmth of craftsmanship and the beauty of imperfection that comes with hand-dyeing. Want to know more? Check out some creative ways to use your tenugui here.

Specially Crafted Tenugui Fabric

Our tenugui are made from cloth specially crafted for everyday use. Soft, absorbent, and smooth, they become even more comfortable to use over time.

Enjoy Tenugui Fading

Our tenugui are hand-dyed with a generous amount of dye. With each wash, excess dye gradually comes off, and the colors evolve slowly. How you use and wash your tenugui will affect its fading, so enjoy watching it change over time.
