Japan has a custom of enjoying Otsukimi (moon viewing) during September and October. This custom was introduced to Japan from China in ancient times. It is an event to view the moon and express gratitude for the autumn harvest. The bright red autumn leaves, which are representative of Japanese autumn, color the autumn night with the moon's light. It creates a fantastic atmosphere that is different from that of the autumn leaves seen in the daytime. It is recommended to display it in a room with a frame or a tenugui tapestry hanger.
Our Tenugui towel are dyed by hand by craftsmen using a dyeing technique called CHUSEN.
