The striped pattern with bonito is often used as a traditional pattern in Japan since it is considered an auspicious fish, symbolizing victories. The gradient represents the color of the bonito which fades from the back to the belly. The Chu-sen hand dyeing technique is utilized to obtain this gradation effect.
Our Tenugui towel are dyed by hand by craftsmen using a dyeing technique called CHUSEN.
