This tenugui captures the vibrant freshness of green leaves, evoking the layered foliage and sparkling sunlight filtering through trees when you look up into a forest.
It is dyed using nigata-zome (double stencil dyeing, also called Hosokawa-zome), one of the most advanced techniques in traditional chusen dyeing. By using two separate stencils and dyeing the fabric twice, this method creates depth, natural overlaps, and subtle variations in color. The overlapping leaf patterns and the delicate blurring caused by slight shifts in the stencils make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Our tenugui are hand-dyed with a generous amount of dye. With each wash, excess dye gradually comes off, and the colors evolve slowly. How you use and wash your tenugui will affect its fading, so enjoy watching it change over time.
