Season Special 2024 : Autumn Design Tenugui Towels and Furoshiki
We are pleased to introduce our collection including new patterns and new products for Fall 2024.
The season is gently changing, with dusk gradually falling earlier and earlier and the sound of autumn insects beginning to be heard.
Although the lingering summer heat continues, we hope you will enjoy the brief autumn scenery with tenugui towels and furoshiki cloths of vivid colors to accent your surroundings, such as your dining table or room, or for your excursions.
Tenugui Towel
Moonlit hare
Japan has a custom of enjoying otsukimi (moon viewing) during September and October. This custom was introduced to Japan from China in ancient times. It is an event to gaze at the moon and express gratitude for the autumn harvest. This product is a tenugui hand towel designed to depict a peaceful scene on an otsukimi night. Combining autumnal flowers and a cute rabbit gives a calm yet gorgeous impression.
Gingko
When you visit Japan during autumn, you will probably think of the bright red autumn leaves. Red is not the only color of autumn in Japan. Golden ginkgo trees can be everywhere along the streets from October to December. This simple, small pattern rhythmically arranges the shapes of ginkgo leaves. The base color is dyed in deep, subdued purple, making the ginkgo leaves' pale yellow stand out.
Cat's onsen Ginger
Based on the cats that appear in the Edo period ukiyo-e "Neko no obuya" (unknown artist), the cats depict various gestures of using the tenugui in the sento bath. 2024's new color is a warm shade inspired by "ginger." It is recommended for those who like orange cats and those who love Ukiyoe.
Japanese snake gourd
The Japanese snake gourd is a snake-like vine that hangs down toward the ground in autumn and bears orange fruits. In Japan, it is called “Karasu-uri. The design of this plant, which conveys the autumnal atmosphere of autumn at a glance, can be easily combined with dried flowers and other natural interior decorations, so please enjoy displaying it.
