A new 2026 design.

【Chocolate Collection】
A selection of tenugui in rich chocolate tones, evoking the sweet, delicate aroma of chocolate. Featuring motifs reminiscent of chocolate bars and cacao and combined with the subtle overlapping colors unique to chusen dyeing, these pieces bring a gentle, heartwarming sense of calm just by looking at them.

This tenugui features Kamawanu’s best-selling strawberry motif, rendered in colors reminiscent of chocolate-covered strawberries. The combination of muted pink and brown softens the sweetness, giving the design a cute yet subtly mature charm.
Perfect for wrapping a box of sweets or using as a kitchen cloth.
Here’s a playful secret: if you look closely, the design shows 15 strawberries—a nod to the Japanese wordplay “ichi (1) – go (5)”, a whimsical hidden detail for those who notice!

Tradition Meets Craftsmanship

Each tenugui is hand-dyed by craftsmen using the traditional CHUSEN technique, which creates beautiful gradations of color unique to this process.

How to Use

Tenugui are an essential part of everyday life in Japan — used for wiping hands, wrapping gifts, or decorating a space. Each piece carries the warmth of craftsmanship and the beauty of imperfection that comes with hand-dyeing. Want to know more? Check out some creative ways to use your tenugui here.

Specially Crafted Tenugui Fabric

Our tenugui are made from cloth specially crafted for everyday use. Soft, absorbent, and smooth, they become even more comfortable to use over time.

Enjoy Tenugui Fading

Our tenugui are hand-dyed with a generous amount of dye. With each wash, excess dye gradually comes off, and the colors evolve slowly. How you use and wash your tenugui will affect its fading, so enjoy watching it change over time.
