This tenugui features a lively design inspired by scenes of Japanese summer festivals, with rows of red lanterns lining the fabric. Look closely and you’ll spot a playful detail—one mischievous ghost lantern sticking out its tongue among the others.

Our tenugui are hand-dyed with a generous amount of dye. With each wash, excess dye gradually comes off, and the colors evolve slowly. How you use and wash your tenugui will affect its fading, so enjoy watching it change over time.
