This tenugui is slightly longer than usual, approximately 98 cm, which is just right for wrapping around the head for kendo and other sports. It is also recommended as a gift because of the meaning of the pattern. The pine tree, an evergreen tree, has long been revered as an auspicious symbol of longevity and celebration.
