The striped pattern that was all the rage for kimonos during the Edo period have been dyed in the quintessential Japanese color, matcha green . The striped pattern goes by various names, such as "parent-and-child stripes," "rod stripes," "waterfall stripes," and "thousands of stripes." The combination of these various stripes packed into this design conjures up the sophistication of the Edo period in just a single piece of fabric.
