In The Great Wave off Kanagawa, by late Edo era artist Katsushika Hokusai, a wave crashes mightily against the stately backdrop of Mount Fuji. This tenugui pairs the breathtaking beauty of that scene with an auspicious “rising steam” motif, which is thought to raise one’s fortunes as well.
Our Tenugui towel are dyed by hand by craftsmen using a dyeing technique called CHUSEN.
