KAMAWANU Furoshiki
A square cloth as your canvas
A new series from KAMAWANU celebrates the freedom of expression through a variety of dyeing techniques. Each square cloth becomes a canvas for creativity, allowing designs to reflect not just the act of wrapping, but also your mood, the changing seasons, or moments of inspiration.
With every use, a furoshiki can take on a new form, with new possibilities emerging with each user. Enjoy it as a fabric that naturally accompanies daily life, bringing the same sense of excitement as coordinating an outfit or rearranging a room.
How to Use
Compact 50 cm Size — Perfect for Your First Furoshiki
Our 50 cm furoshiki offer an ideal introduction to the art of wrapping. Their compact size makes them highly versatile for everyday uses—whether as a handkerchief, lunch wrap, or short bandana. The lightweight fabric makes them easy to use.
These furoshiki are not only a charming souvenir or gift for friends and visitors from abroad but also a thoughtful choice for small celebrations or special occasions.
A new 2026 design.
This small furoshiki is inspired by the luxurious kesho-mawashi—the ornate aprons worn by sumo wrestlers during their ring entrance. The design reimagines Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” from the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji with a bold, dynamic twist.
Spread it over your lap at lunchtime, and you’ll feel just like a sumo wrestler. It also makes a fun gift for sumo enthusiasts!
About the Dyeing
Inkjet printing faithfully reproduces delicate, multi-colored designs on the fabric.
Inkjet printing uses pigment-based inks. Since these inks mostly remain on the surface rather than fully penetrating the fibers, the reverse side of the fabric appears lighter or whiter compared with hand-printed (nassen) fabrics.
About the Fabric
Our furoshiki are crafted from lightweight cotton with a soft touch and delicate translucency that beautifully showcases intricate designs. Carefully woven from fine threads, the fabric has a smooth feel and a subtle, refined sheen.
*Please note: As the fabric differs from that used for hand-printed (nassen) furoshiki, there may be slight differences in texture.
